ORGANIZATION
The medical and public health activities in the district are under the dual control of the State Government and the Zilla Parishad. In the State sector the activities are controlled by the Medical department under the charge of the Surgeon General to the Government and by the Director of Public Health with headquarters at Bombay and' Pune, respectively. The activities in the district in the State sector are controlled by the civil surgeon who has to supervise the working of the hospitals and dispensaries under the control of the Government in the district.
