ABOUT BHANDARA

Bhandara is known as District of Ponds. Famous for bumper crop of rice and bamboo plantations, its traditional craft of manufacturing metal utensils and the thriving mining industry are its principal activities. Gaymukh, Chandpur, Korambhi, Nagzeera Sanctuary, the memorial to first Marathi poet Mukundraj at Pavni are some important tourist places. GONDIA

Gondia district, created recently by caning it out of Bhandara, is dotted with over 10,000 small and big ponds. Vidarbha's longest river Vainganga, flows through this district. Nestling in the Satpuda mountain range, the district is laced with in mining industry units. Navegaon dam, Chand-Suraj, Chulband are its main places of tourist attraction. Gondia is also famous for windmills, beedi industry and factories of brass utensils.
