Since the formation of the Zilla Parishad in 1962, the parishad

secondary education in the district. He works under the general
instructions and control of the Director of Education, Poona and

training colleges in the district and supervision and
administration of primary education.
All educational institutions in the district viz.
multi-purpose high schools, secondary schools, middle-cum-high

institutions for teachers have been allotted along with their

The parishad education officer is assisted in his work by two
deputy education officers (M.E.S. Class II) and 18 assistant

the quality of work done by these institutions and on matters
pertaining to accommodation, equipment, staff and their
efficiency.

the primary and secondary school teachers. In consultation with
the education committee of the Parishad he decides upon the
day-to-day problems in educational matters.
