a minor port mid-way between the mouths of the Vasishthi and the Shastri rivers. Protected by the bold and conspicuous headland of Adur 360 feet above sea level, it is a safe anchorage during northerly gales. In former years it was a place of call for coasting steamers.

On the top of the hill, overlooking the bay, is a trigonometrical survey station. Close by to the north is a temple of Durgadevi. Situated on a high plateau it commands the sea and gives a clear view into it for many miles. Of late this site is becoming popular as a picnic spot. All big vessels anchor at a distance of 200 feet from the jetti constructed in the year 1959.
