CHINCHANI

Cincani (pop. 5.181) is a large village in Tasganv taluka lying 6.43 km (four miles) east of the taluka headquarters. It previously belonged to the Jamkhindi State and contains the ruined vada or mansion of the Parvardhans with some wells inside and ihe backside rampart wall still in tact. The area occupied by the whole of this is nearly 1.01 hectares (2½ acres) and has now been purchased for Rs. 7,000 to house a health centre and provide quarters for the medical staff. The Cincani bandhara irrigating over 80.93 hectares (200 acres) of land was built at an approximate cost of Rs, 35,413 during the Second five Year Plan. Turmeric, sugarcane, jowar and groundnut are among the chief crops. There are three primary schools, of which onv is for girls, a high school, a dispensary and a cooperative society. The village has also two temples and a mosque. Drinking water is obtained from the wells.
