DIGHANCHI
Dighanci, till recently a village in Khiinapur taluka, is now included in the Atapadi mahal with the formation of that mahal in August. 1964. It covers an area of 54.90 km2 (21.2 square miles) and has a population of 4,456 as per the 1961 Census. Besides agriculture, wool weaving and twine manufacture from cordage plants
[Agave vivipara] gives employment to a large number of people. The coarse woollen blankets woven by the Dhangars are of a good texture and find a ready market. There are co-operative societies of wool weavers as well as twine manufacturers. Dighanci has an agriculture demonstration centre, a police station, four primary schools and a high school,
