GOTKHINDI
Gotkhindi (pop. 4,954) in Valva taluka is situated 14,48 km (9 miles) south-cast of Islampur and 3.21 km (2 miles) from the Mallik- arjun hill known for its temple of Mallikarjun and the fair celebrated in honour of that deity. Plaintains are grown here in abundance and hence there is a proposal to set up a plaintain-powder manufacturing plant. Gotkbindi has two primary schools, a middle school, two libraries, a post office and a vasatigrha.
There is also a temple dedicated to Amrtesvar.
