FERRIES
Ferries are maintained to facilitate transhipment of goods and passengers at places where vehicular traffic becomes well-nigh impossible. Such services in the district are provided at three places, viz., Pomalwadi, Begampur and Tirhe. All the ferries are country-crafts. There is a ferry service on Bhima river near Pomalwadi railway station in Karmala taluka. At Begampur also there is a ferry service on Bhima river. It is, however, provided during monsoon and winter seasons only. The ferry service at Tirhe on Sina river is also provided during monsoon season only.
