The total annual expenditure of all the Panchayats on health and sanitation in the district amounted to Rs. 37,600 in 1961-62 accounting for nearly 14.63 per cent of the total expenditure. The figure stood at Rs. 5,44,783 in 1964-65.
In 1961-62 and 1963-64 Government expenditure under health and rural sanitation in all blocks in the district amounted to Rs. 14,500 and Rs. 1,56,000 respectively.
In the year 1965-66 the Zilla Parishad received by way of revenue from medical and public health an amount of Rs. 22,831. The expenditure for the year stood at Rs. 11,09,425. In the year 1971-72 the receipts and expenditure on medical and public health amounted to Rs. 66,000 and Rs. 26,17,000, respectively.
