Cultivators having the qualities of leadership and who respond to the improved techniques of agriculture are selected to attend the camp, locally known as shibir. Experts on all the subjects including agriculture, animal husbandry, cooperation, social education, industries, etc.. impart training to these trainees. Demonstrations are also organised. Cultivators who have been trained in such short camps are again selected for a camp of ten days duration for extensive training in agriculture.
