NER.

Ner, with a population of 6,263 persons in 1961 is a large agricultural village in Darvha tahsil situated 24.14 km (about 15 miles) north-east of Darvha. It is sometimes called Ner-Parsopant and with the adjoining village of Nababpur having 2,904 inhabitants has a joint grampanchayat. It is the headquarters of a development block and is perhaps the largest cattle market in the district. At the Tuesday weekly market many purchasers from outside come and a brisk sale in cattle takes place. It is inhabited by many dyers or Rangaris, but the industry is on the decline. There are a primary health centre, a police station, a post office and educational facilities upto the higher secondary school stage. The cattle market is a source of substantial income to the grampanchayat.
